Sizing and maintanance

Sizes
All jewellery made by us can be custom-made. In the dropdown menus you can choose from standard sizes. If your size is not listed, please contact us via info@byindah.nl and we will see what we can do for you.

How to determine your size?
You can easily determine the right size of your bracelet by taking a centimetre and measuring the circumference of your wrist under your wrist bones (towards your elbow). In the drop-down menu you can choose between different sizes, you can then select the nearest size.
We will then make the bracelet in the appropriate length.

Materials
We use different kinds of materials for our jewellery. We often work with wood, natural stones, swarovski, miyuki beads, stainless steel, 925 sterling silver and DQ metals.

DQ metal is nickel-free metal with a real silver or (rose) gold plating, so it's great quality. This does mean that you should be careful with water, perfume, cream etc. Should the metal become dull, it can be polished with a jewellery cloth. The layer of silver or (rose) gold can wear off over time.

Stainless steal
People with an allergy to nickel or silver can often resist stainless steel. Stainless steel does not stain the skin and does not discolour (almost). However, the gold layer of gold-plated stainless steel can wear off over time, especially when the jewellery is rubbed against a desk.

Here are some more tips to enjoy your jewellery even longer:
-Treat your jewellery with care.
-Do not wear your jewellery while sleeping, exercising, swimming and showering.
-Never go into the pool with your jewellery, chlorine in swimming pools can cause damage to all types of metal.
-Also, they do not like perfume and body lotion, so first put on perfume, body lotion, hairspray, etc. and only after about half an hour your jewellery.
-If you are easily discoloured by the acidity/PH value of your skin, consider coating the (metal) parts with clear nail varnish and repeat this every now and then.
-When you are not wearing your jewellery, keep it dark and moisture-free.
-Should the metal start to discolour (by wearing, or not wearing) you can carefully polish it with a soft dry cloth (silver tissue). Do not polish too intensively otherwise you may polish off the coating.
-Do not clean the jewellery in a jewellery bath. The bath will cause the liquid to bite off a layer of your jewellery. Your jewellery may then become dull.
-925 sterling silver. Silver will oxidise due to air. Jewellery will turn black. You can polish this again with a silver polishing cloth. I do not recommend special dipping baths for jewellery. The liquid in the bath will bite a layer off your jewellery. Your jewellery may then become dull.

Wear and tear
Wearing your jewellery can cause it to wear out. If your elastic has stretched or a connection has come loose, you can put your jewellery aside. But that's a shame, of course! For a small fee we can repair or re-thread your jewellery.
